A Pre-Employment Medical Assessment is carried out to ensure an employee is fit to work in a specific environment, can fulfil the requirements of a role, can travel overseas and to protect them from potentially harmful work environments. It is recommended for new employees, existing employees who are transitioning roles; as well as periodically to existing employees to compare ongoing health status of a work force in order to ensure that the employee’s capacity can continue to meet the needs of their duties and the workplace.
The significant benefits of the Pre-Employment Medical Assessment include:

- improves mental focus, clarity, endurance and attention to detail as staff are appropriately matched to the physical requirements of the role that they are required to complete.
- increases retention of key staff members

Importantly, by vaccinating your staff you help to stop the spread of flu to families and the wider community.
The Doctors offer two models for delivering vaccinations
- Onsite: The professional immunisation team of medical professionals and registered nurses will visit your workplace at a time and date convenient to you and your employees.
- In-Clinic: the flu vaccination will occur in-clinic and take around 10 – 15 minutes.

Q Fever Vaccinations
The medical practitioners are accredited to provide Q Fever vaccinations.
Q Fever is a severe, acute febrile illness, which is a major problem in Australia and around the world. It is a zoonotic disease (i.e. spread from animals to humans) caused by the organism Coxiella burnetii.
Transmission to humans is generally via inhalation of contaminated aerosolized particles or ingestion of unpasteurized dairy products.
Q Fever is mainly thought to be an occupational hazard, but anyone who has been in contact with farm animals, or wild animals and their products, may be at risk. Approximately 40% of people exposed to Coxiella burnetii develop Acute Q Fever. In most cases the acute illness lasts 2–6 weeks and of this group approximately 10–30% will develop Chronic Q Fever which can last beyond one year and frequently more than 5–10 years.
Q Fever vaccinations involve two stages:
- During the first consultation a Q Fever skin test and Blood test will be undertaken
- After one week there is a review appointment where Q Fever vaccinations will be administered if required.
