COVID-19 IMPORTANT UPDATE

Due to the significant call volumes to our practice relating to COVID-19, before ringing our practice we ask you to please read this important announcement.

NO COVID TESTING OR RAT TESTS

The Doctors who operate independently from The Carina Medical & Specialist Centre do not test for COVID-19 or stock Rapid Antigen Tests at our practice. RATs can be purchased privately from your local pharmacy. If you need to get tested and can’t access a RAT, you should get a PCR test.

PFIZER VACCINE CHILDREN AGED 5 – 11 YEARS

From 10 January 2022, the ATAGI has granted approval for the Pfizer vaccine to be administered to children from age 5 to 11 years and can be booked online. Due to the limited supply being provided to us by Public Health, we will open our bookings as soon as we receive the vaccines. Please check our available appointment times regularly by clicking “Book Now” as it is updated daily as soon as vaccines have arrived at our practice.

BOOSTER DOSES

Booster doses are now available from 4 months following your second dose (for those aged 18 years and over) and can now be booked online. Please check our available appointment times regularly by clicking “Book Now” as it is updated daily as soon as vaccines have arrived at our practice.

COVID-19 PFIZER VACCINES

Pfizer vaccines are available at our practice and you can book online. Please check our available appointment times regularly by clicking “Book Now” as it is updated daily as soon as vaccines have arrived at our practice.

FLU VACCINES AVAILABLE

Flu vaccines are available our practice and can be booked online. You cannot get a COVID-19 vaccine and flu shot on the same day. You can have your flu vaccine before or after your COVID vaccine, as long as you wait 14 days.

COVID-19 TELEHEALTH CONSULTATIONS

For the safety of the patients who visit The Carina Medical & Specialist Centre and staff, telephone or video appointments are encouraged, where possible. A telehealth consultation is similar to a normal consultation where your doctor will assess your symptoms, make a diagnosis and offer treatment and a plan of action as required. You can make a telehealth appointment online by clicking “Book Now”.

The Doctor’s standard billing fees apply to ALL telehealth and telephone consultations. To be eligible for a Medicare rebate, you must have been seen by one of the Doctors who operate independently from The Carina Medical & Specialist Centre face to face in the past 12 months. Please contact us if you are not sure when you were last seen face to face. You will be contacted shortly after your appointment by our medical receptionists to collect payment.

If a face-to-face appointment is required, the Doctors request that all patients wear a face mask while in the practice. Strict social distancing >1.5m should be observed and the number patients in the waiting room is limited.
