Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD), Accredited Sports Dietitian (AccSD)

Hilary Hooker

Hilary is an Accredited Practising Dietitian with over four years of experience across private practice, NDIS, DVA and Medicare-funded services. She takes a practical, personalised and non-judgemental approach to nutrition, supporting clients to make sustainable changes that fit into their everyday lives. Hilary believes that nutrition is about more than simply knowing what to eat. She works alongside each client to understand their current eating habits, cravings, lifestyle, barriers and goals, before identifying realistic changes that can be maintained long term. Rather than focusing solely on what needs to be removed or restricted, Hilary helps clients understand what they can add to their current diet to improve their nutrition, health and wellbeing. Her areas of interest include chronic disease management, weight management and metabolic health, including Type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and fatty liver disease. She also supports clients taking GLP-1 medications, helping them maintain adequate nutrition, protein and dietary quality while working towards their health and weight-management goals.

Hilary has a particular interest in women’s health, including PCOS, perimenopause and menopause, and enjoys helping women navigate changes in appetite, body composition, energy, metabolic health and nutrition throughout different stages of life.

She also works with the ageing population, supporting nutrition, strength and independence, as well as gastrointestinal conditions including IBS, diverticular disease, disaccharide intolerances and other gut health concerns.

Hilary’s goal is to help clients move away from an all-or-nothing approach to food and instead develop a positive, sustainable relationship with nutrition that supports their health for the long term.
