Wart Removal Treatment - Brisbane
How does Wart Removal Treatment work?
At Carina Medical and Specialist Centre, doctors in our clinic prefer to use cryotherapy (otherwise known as cryosurgery) for wart, skin tag or skin lesion removal. Cryotherapy is a very common treatment used for this type of lesion or wart removal, which works by freezing the wart using extremely cold temperatures. During your treatment, your doctor will freeze any warts or skin tags using pure liquid nitrogen. With our Cryotherapy treatment, a special applicator will be used to pinpoint and freeze the wart, causing the cells within the wart to be destroyed and the wart to inevitably fall off.
Your doctor or specialist will perform three liquid nitrogen applications in your wart removal appointment. Each application will last between 20-30 seconds, which varies based on the size of the wart. It is a quick and simple appointment, and doctors and patients have reported overwhelming success with various types of warts and lesions.
What happens after my Wart Removal Treatment?
You may find after your wart removal treatment that a blister or red skin may appear around the site. In the days following your appointment, you’ll most likely notice that both the wart and blister heals up or disappears entirely. For some patients, warts will re-emerge or partially remain, and in this case, additional cryotherapy sessions may be needed.
Can anyone undergo Cryotherapy for Wart Removal?
As mentioned, cryotherapy is generally safe for most individuals. However, certain conditions or circumstances may require precautions or alternative treatment options. It’s important to speak to your doctor or specialist about any medical conditions, allergies, or medications you are taking before undergoing cryotherapy.
Is Cryotherapy for Wart Removal effective?
Cryotherapy is an effective treatment for many types of warts. The success rate will depend on factors such as the size, location, and type of wart being treated. Some stubborn or large warts may require multiple cryotherapy sessions for complete removal.
Most patients experience a noticeable improvement in the appearance of their skin and warts after our wart removal treatment. The Doctors who consult from The Carina Medical and Specialist Centre, have treated many patients with warts or plantar warts with very positive feedback.
