About Julie Masci

Julie Masci is a QUT honours graduate and an accredited practicing dietitian with the Dietitian’s Association of Australia. With Italian blood pumping through her veins, food has always been a major focus within Julie’s life. The progression to embark on a career in nutrition and dietetics seemed only natural.

Julie practices with the belief that every person should have the opportunity to enjoy the pleasures food brings to life while feeling great and looking fantastic. Her main areas of practice include providing diet and lifestyle changes to assist in weight loss (for children, teenagers and adults) and associated chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, hypertension and high cholesterol.

A special interest in the area of gastrointestinal disorders (such as IBS), food allergies and intolerance has stemmed from Julie’s personal experiences in this field. She endeavours to help clients to identify and manage individual food sensitivities using proven techniques. Julie has a strong belief that a patient’s relief from long-standing food-related symptoms improves an individual’s understanding and appreciation of their mind and body.

Julie has had several appearances on Brisbane televisions screens on both Brisbane Extra and Today Tonight where she explains nutrition concepts and aims to debunk diet myths. Julie also has extensive experience engaging audiences at lectures and seminars speaking on a range of topics such as obesity, diabetes and celiac disease.

On top of this, she has also contributed regular columns and feature articles for the Queensland Coeliac Society newsletter and the Retiree Magazine.

Julie’s attention to detail when it comes to nutrition has provided her with the opportunity to work with an array of local food manufacturers and health care providers. Through individual product analysis, Julie has provided her stamp of nutritional endorsement to many food companies, while her work with aged-care facilities has ensured the nutritional adequacy and appropriateness of the meals provided.

With an appreciation for culture and individuality, Julie brings a fresh approach to the field of nutrition and dietetics. She strives to motivate and guide her clients until they reach their target of success.

Julie’s goal is to improve each patient’s outlook and approach to life through the food they eat and she will stop at nothing to ensure they get there.
